Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and ownership-driven Mid-Level QA Automation Engineer to strengthen our automation practice. You will take meaningful responsibility for test coverage, framework quality and pipeline integration across your assigned squads. Beyond execution, you will be expected to contribute ideas, mentor junior engineers and actively shape how we approach quality as we move into Generative and Agentic AI product development. This role is for someone who takes quality personally and is excited about where the industry is heading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement AI-driven testing techniques including self-healing tests, visual regression and test generation
- Develop and maintain automation scripts that execute efficiently with minimal flaky tests
- Own comprehensive automation coverage across assigned features including positive, negative and edge case scenarios
- Maintain full traceability of automated tests to sprint objectives and business requirements
- Contribute to framework modernisation through modular architecture, reusable utilities and technical debt reduction
- Ensure automation scripts adhere to coding standards through code reviews, linting and proper documentation
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for early defect detection and faster feedback loops
- Support shift-left practices by enabling automated testing at development and pre-merge stages
- Support manual QAs in building automation capabilities through guidance, templates and mentorship
- Collaborate closely with developers and DevOps to ensure automation aligns with development and infrastructure goals
- Support the QA Automation Lead in ensuring squad-level automation execution meets department-wide objectives
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 1.5 to 2.5 years of solid QA automation experience
- Hands-on experience with one or more web automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium
- Experience with mobile automation using Appium is good to have
- Good understanding of API testing using Postman, RestAssured or similar
- Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar)
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams with sprint-based delivery
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality
- Awareness or curiosity around Generative AI and Agentic AI testing approaches is highly desirable
- Exposure to AI-powered testing tools or LLM-based test generation
- Experience with visual regression testing tools
- Exposure to performance or load testing basics
- Experience testing fintech, lending or financial products
