We are looking for a motivated and curious fresh graduate to join our backend engineering team at Manafa Technology — the technology arm behind Saudi Arabia's first regulated debt crowdfunding platform. You will work alongside experienced engineers to build, test, and maintain real financial systems — not toy projects. We care more about how you think and learn than what you already know. Backend (PHP Laravel)

We are looking for a motivated and curious fresh graduate to join our backend engineering team at Manafa Technology — the technology arm behind Saudi Arabia's first regulated debt crowdfunding platform. You will work alongside experienced engineers to build, test, and maintain real financial systems — not toy projects. We care more about how you think and learn than what you already know. If you have a passion for clean code and enjoy solving problems, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain backend features in Laravel across real production and staging environments
- Write clean, readable PHP code following MVC patterns, OOP principles, and team conventions
- Build and consume RESTful APIs; assist with integrations such as payment gateways, cloud storage, and many other third-party integrations
- Write queries and learn to spot performance issues
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies alongside the team
- Troubleshoot bugs and read error logs with guidance from senior engineers
- Document your work clearly so teammates can build on it
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Basic understanding of PHP or any object-oriented language — you do not need to know Laravel yet
- Familiarity with how web applications work: HTTP, request-response cycles, forms, and APIs
- Comfortable writing basic SQL queries — SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY
- Some experience with Git — committing, branching, and pushing to a remote repository
- Ability to read documentation, follow a tutorial through to the end, and adapt when things break
- Good written and verbal communication in English; (Arabic is a plus 😀)
- Genuine curiosity: you enjoy understanding how things work, not just making them work
